A note from Mom and Dad: Our girls would love to hear from other young SkepKids. We are seeking to foster critical thinking skills in our children and we hope that this online 'journal' might help our kids in their development. If grownups would like to comment on anything written here you can also go to our family site: SkepticalFamily.com.

When I was at school we had this test to write down words. One of the words was WON, like "I won a race". I spelled it WON. I saw my friends and they wrote down ONE. Then I crossed out the WON and I changed it ONE because I thought they were the ones who were right. But, they were wrong so I was wrong when I crossed out my WON and changed it to ONE. So the lesson I learned was just because your friends think something is true it doesn't mean it is true. I learned that you can believe in yourself and write down what you think is true, you don't have to listen to your friends. You shouldn't copy off of people too.

Do you have stories like this, where you listened to your friends over yourself?
